What a heartwarming video! Laura speaks so gently to the new puppy in the car. Watch how tenderly she touches the puppy’s ear, praising the little one. Laura’s parents have taught her well how to be respectful to dogs.

How this family welcomes a new puppy

If you’ve watched other videos of Charlie the Beagle, this is the same baby girl that Charlie took care of. She’s older now, and growing ever more loving with dogs. This family wants more dog owners to know that it is possible to train their dogs to co-exist harmoniously when a new baby is born. It’s a matter of preparation and training. And sometimes, for some dogs, that nurturing just comes naturally, as in the case of Charlie.

Calming bed for dogs—new home or travelling

It looks like the puppy’s first day home. Charlie the Beagle is waiting eagerly inside the house. (And what a great idea to have a double door after the main entrance to prevent excited dogs from dashing out into the street!)

Laura’s mom is introducing the puppy to Charlie by letting him sniff the new pup. When the puppy is down on the floor, Charlie follows her around, as if already he’s taking on the role of caretaker for this puppy.

One logistics Charlie took care of is to remove his toys. Ah yes! That’s important. There is such a thing as personal belonging. And some, we just don’t want to share with others. Watch how Laura goes inside the crate with the puppy, so the puppy doesn’t feel isolated while being introduced to her new sleep area. Laura is a natural in puppy training. Now the puppy will associate pleasant experience with the crate because Laura is keeping her company there. And a good thing it’s a large enough crate to fit both of them. My congratulations to this family for doing such a superb job of bringing up a daughter who knows how to be kind and gentle with dogs.

If you enjoy watching Charlie the Beagle’s videos, here is another one for you of Charlie not wanting to get up.

Remember Charlie, the Beagle who loves the little girl Laura Olivia, and looks after her as if he were the mom? Now that she can take care of herself, Laura is bringing home a new puppy–another Beagle–for Charlie, and well, for herself!

This loving family want prospective dog owners to consider their situation before bringing home a dog, so that the newcomer won’t end up in a shelter later on. They are specifically thinking of families with newborns, and believe that with proper training, it is possible to live in peace, baby and puppy.

What to consider before adopting a dog

Calming Bed for Dogs to new homes

For those who are not in that situation, but do want to get a dog for other reasons, there are other things to consider. Guest writer Margaret Brooks shares some thoughts on this topic below. Margaret is the VP of content at CertaPet.com. This animal lover had owned dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, monkeys and other small animals. Currently, she has just one pet – a Rottweiler named Toggie.

Check your housing regulations before purchasing or adopting a dog or cat Many landlords and management companies no longer allow pets due to past problems. However, many also offer the option of having a pet if you pay a pet deposit. These deposits are often non-refundable, so be sure to consider that before renting.

For people with service dogs, emotional support animals, or therapy animals there are different regulations that may apply. Knowing your rights is very important when owning a pet, especially with so many different municipal ordinances in effect.

Privileges for Emotional Support Animal owners If you have an Emotional Support Animal, Service Animal, or Therapy Animal, there are several resources you can turn to for help. Yes, there are benefits to having these animals, including the right to rent a home or apartment without the concern of pet restrictions.

There are a variety of benefits for those who require an animal for assistance. Pet deposits, additional rental fees, airline fees, and more are waived for those with a need for an emotional support animal or a service dog. This is due to the special nature of the conditions leading to the ownership of the animals. Many people who require these animals fall under the ADA, which gives them some special considerations with landlords, airlines, and many other venues.

Owning a pet is for life Just remember, owning a pet is a serious responsibility. Just as we would provide everything necessary for a child, the same must be done for a pet, without the benefit of them being able to tell us what they need. By planning ahead and considering your income properly, you can determine whether a pet is right for you at this time.

Remember Charlie the Beagle and his friend, Laura? This is a sweet video of them and puppy Lilly lingering in bed even though it’s time for Laura to get up for school. With a cozy bed and 2 loving friends with her, who wouldn’t want to stay in that lovely nest? This family has done a wonderful job creating an atmosphere of love between their child and their dogs. Since the family got a second Beagle, there must be a very good reason.

What are Beagles like?

This breed is good-natured, and they are peaceful with everyone. They are also energetic (wonderful trait around children) friendly, and loyal. Beagles get along with other dogs and other pets. So if you are a family with other pets and children, your Beagle will fit right in. They enjoy the companionship of other pets as well as their family.

What Beagles need from you

Heating Pad for Large Dogs

Hide food from your Beagle

Since Beagles were developed to be hunting dogs, their nose will lead them. If you don’t want your food to disappear from the table, put it away. If you don’t want your trash can to be investigated for food, put it away until garbage day. And if they smell anything interesting, off they go exploring, even if you call them and call them and call them. They listen to their nose. That’s why it’s important to have a secure fence when you have a beagle.

Why is it important to have a fence for your Beagle?

First, they really need a lot of exercise. They are hunting dogs, remember? They need to run leash-free. But they are also climbers and diggers. So if the fence is a flimsy one, they can easily escape. It’s a good idea to monitor your Beagle when he’s outside the house. Don’t leave him there too long by himself. If he gets bored, he might howl and bay and dig holes. And even though he would alert you to strangers, he’s too friendly to be a guard dog. To recap, a good fence AND plenty of exercise and play time will keep your Beagle happy.
