This is a video of Lilo the Husky nursing kitten Rosie to health. It is a heart-warming story. Lilo has always had strong mother instincts. Dainius writes in Bored Panda that 3-weeks-old Rosie was rescued at a time when she could go either way. Her foster parents did not know if the kitten would make it through the first night. So they decided to have her cuddle with their Husky, Lilo. Lilo has never had puppies, and never will. Nevertheless, her mother instinct is strong. After just one week of tender loving care on the part of Lilo, kitten Rosie opened her eyes and started walking on her own! Thank you, Lilo!

The story of Lilo the nurturing Husky

Even though Lilo already had strong mother instinct, it went full bloom when Rosie starts suckling. After Rosie regains her health, she would go to the park with her Husky mom. They sleep together, nap together. She would not leave Lilo’s side, as you can see in this video.

Gentle connective tissue workouts DVD

Since there are other Huskies in the home, Rosie would join the Husky siblings when they go on adventures. Just imagine the sight–a kitten taking walks with big Huskies. Although this is a very sweet story of how Lilo the Husky nursed Rosie the kitten back to health, the owners of Lilo advises against readers going out to get a rescue kitten to be nursed by a Husky because Huskies have strong prey instincts.

This is a very unusual situation. These two have an extraordinary bond, but that does not mean that other Huskies would feel the same way about cats. There are many wonderful photos of Lilo caring for Rosie in this article. You can see those photos here.

Enjoy this tender video of Lilo nursing Rosie the kitten back to health. And after that, you can enjoy watching this cat sleeping on her dog friend.

This video allows us to spend a moment with these lovely Pomeranian puppies. They are really companion dogs, not only for you, but they like YOUR companionship, and don’t like to be left alone for too long. They get lonely. So they are ideal for those who can spend a lot of time with them.

These connective tissue workouts with Miranda Esmonde-White will greatly increase your mobility

How to care for Pomeranians

Families with older children who know how to handle dogs would be fine too. It’s better to not match a Pomeranian with families with very young children because these dogs are so fragile. It’s easy for a toddler to accidentally injure a Pom during playtime, perhaps when rough-housing. Their size is such that you need to train them NOT to jump from the sofa. If they attempt to jump off the sofa, the height may be twice their height. If we were to jump down to a spot that’s twice our height, we would ost likely hurt something too.

How to keep a Pomeranian healthy

Adopt A Pet recommends that we brush the teeth of a Pomeranian everyday. Another recommendation is to get pet insurance to make sure that their hearts and thyroids stay in great health. This recommendation comes from a Pomeranian rescue. They must have good reason to make this recommendation since their mission is to rescue Pomeranians.

Grooming for a Pomeranian

Another Pom Rescue writes in this article that their coat needs to be brushed regularly. They have a double coat, and if not brushed regularly, can get matted. Even if your Pomeranian is not fond of being brushed at the beginning, encourage her to love the grooming, and make it a bonding experience for both of you. If grooming is something that you really feel uncomfortable with, you can take your Pom to a professional groomer every 6 weeks or so. The cost varies. You might want to ask other pet owners for recommendations. Not all groomers have the same level of experience. You can read more about Pomeranians here.

This Chihuahua puppy would have more luck learning to walk on the floor than on this blanket. Her name is Willow, and she is almost 4-weeks-old. At this filming she only weighs 8 ounces.

In the description below the YouTube video, there was an update of Willow when she was 2 1/2 years old. Her full grown weight was 2.75 pound, and bosses around her German Shepherd sister. Mighty are the small! According to DogTime, a Chihuahua is usually between 6 to 9 inches tall at the shoulder. They weigh around 3 to 6 pounds. Their personality tend to be confident and bold. They usually bond to one person, although they are willing to make friends as long as they are properly introduced. They may be reserved at first.

Characteristics of a Chihuahua

Chihuahua is among the top 10 breeds recommended as watch dog. They will alert you when they hear the slightest sound near the house. If you want a very quiet dog who does not bark, this is not the one to bring home.

Dental Chews for Dogs

Of course all dogs are individuals even if they come from the same breed. I know one Chihuahua who is so quiet that to this day, I don’t know what she sounds like.

Another quality you might appreciate in Chihuahuas is that they don’t require much grooming. Another advantage (if you are not extremely active) is that they require minimum exercise. It’s not that they don’t need exercise. All dogs do. But look at those little legs. If they were to cover the same distance as say, a Golden Retriever, it’s going to take a lot more out of a Chihuahua than the Goldie.

It’s a good idea to socialize a Chihuahua when they are young, exposing them to lots of different experiences, people, sound, sights. Chihuahua thrives on affection and your companionship. Enjoy watching this almost 4-weeks-old puppy learn to walk.

The devoted man in this video helps his dog feels better from Arthritis. It’s a most moving story. He rescued Shep when he was 8 weeks old. Shep is 19 years old in this photograph, and has such pain from his arthritis that he cannot sleep at night. Knowing that water would soothe that pain and helps his dog to fall asleep, John Unger would take Shep to Lake Superior every night and soothe his dog to asleep.

This sounds like a heroic act, but John shares that if it weren’t for Shep, he himself wouldn’t be here. Shep just helps him snap out of whatever he was going through at the time. He wants to do everything he can to help Shep feel better.

How one man cared for his arthritic dog

A friend took this photo (not a staged photo) and posted it on Facebook. Over 207,000 people liked the photo and shared it with their friends. Generous donations from dog lovers help get Shep the laser treatment he needed so he can fall asleep without John needing to take him into Lake Superior every night. Isn’t this a beautiful story?

There’s been a number of reports about the effectiveness of turmeric in helping dogs relieve pain from arthritis. A dog trainer friend has a 14 year old dog who has been limited in her walk due to arthritis. She started including turmeric in his diet, and says that he starts acting like a puppy now.

Tumeric For Health shares research projects that were done on the effects of turmeric on dogs with arthritis or joint inflammation. It also includes appropriate dosage, depending on the size of your dog. Also, the dosage depends on whether the tumeric is in powdeer form, or oil, or tincture. You can read the entire article here. If you have found something that alleviate the pain of your dog’s arthritis, please share in the comment at the bottom of this page.

Video of a Saint Bernard who won't get off his Dad. Also, characteristics of a St. Bernard and how they are around children.

The post [VIDEO] Saint Bernard Keeps Hugging Dad appeared first on Doggie Outpost.

The Saint Bernard in this video will not stop hugging Dad. His name is Sully. His Dad just got home, and Sully has been waiting all day to greet him. A quick hug just won’t do. He pinned down his Dad, and won’t let him get up. This is the best kind of welcome home. Imagine getting this everyday. If there’s been any stress that day, this long hug would certainly melt it all away.

Characteristics of a St. Bernard

I don’t know how heavy Sully is, but Saint Bernard’s can weigh between 130 to 180 pounds, maybe more, according to Vetstreet. St. Bernard has a heart as big as his body. The sweet Bernies love their family dearly and is a good protector.

Connective tissue workouts DVD Miranda Esmonde-White

You know that image of St. Bernard’s wearing a keg of brandy? It was purely an artistic license taken by a painter visiting the Alps back in the 1800’s. The public loved that image, and that’s how it stuck around. They did, however, helped the monks at the hospice of Saint Bernard, by looking for lost travelers and rescuing them. Today, their job is to be a family companion or a show dog.

The Saint Bernard is a gentle dog. Calm and patient too. He is great for family with children. Rough-housing won’t hurt him. However, your toddler could get knocked over accidentally by this giant. It might be a good idea to wait til your kids are sure-footed before getting this large dog.

He makes a good therapy dog too. He’s just the right height for someone lying in a hospital bed to pet him. Saint Bernard’s tend to be cautious, sometimes even a bit shy. If you socialize them early, it would help them feel more comfortable with new people, new surroundings. Take them to visit friends and neighbors. Some businesses are dog friendly. You can read more about Saint Bernard’s here.

What’s a good place for dogs to meet dogs? A pet store! In this video, 2 Scottish Terrier puppies met each other at Petco. The black Terrier is Effie. You can hear one of the Scotties barking. A pretty powerful bark for such a little dog.

What are Scottish Terriers like?

That’s one of the traits identified by Dog Time, in addition to being a good watch dog. In fact, if you live in a noise-restricted building, choose another breed because a Scottish Terrier will bark at strangers. He has moderate exercise needs. This and also due to his small size, a Scottish Terrier can live in an apartment provided he has a way to let out his energy. He is NOT a low-energy dog. They were bred to be working dogs. And they dig. It’s a good idea to provide a space in your yard to let your Scottie dig away to his heart’s content.

Gentle workouts for connective tissue DVD Miranda Esmonde-White

Even though Scottish Terrier do need to exercise, keep in mind that they have short legs, which means they can get tired sooner. One step for you can be 2 steps for him. And definitely, do NOT take him jogging. And when you take him for a walk, be sure to put him on a leash because he has a chase instinct. If he sees a small animal running, off he goes after them.

Same with your backyard. Have a physical fence, but not an electric fence. This will keep him from going after interesting moving things or smell. Scotties are not suitable for families with toddlers or infants. If someone plays rough with them or pull on them, they will defend themselves. Although the Scotties do not shed much, you do need to groom him once a week. And if he is a show dog, everyday. You can learn more about the Scottish Terrier here. Enjoy watching Effie getting acquainted with her new friend at Petco.
