This video allows us to spend a moment with these lovely Pomeranian puppies. They are really companion dogs, not only for you, but they like YOUR companionship, and don’t like to be left alone for too long. They get lonely. So they are ideal for those who can spend a lot of time with them.

These connective tissue workouts with Miranda Esmonde-White will greatly increase your mobility

How to care for Pomeranians

Families with older children who know how to handle dogs would be fine too. It’s better to not match a Pomeranian with families with very young children because these dogs are so fragile. It’s easy for a toddler to accidentally injure a Pom during playtime, perhaps when rough-housing. Their size is such that you need to train them NOT to jump from the sofa. If they attempt to jump off the sofa, the height may be twice their height. If we were to jump down to a spot that’s twice our height, we would ost likely hurt something too.

How to keep a Pomeranian healthy

Adopt A Pet recommends that we brush the teeth of a Pomeranian everyday. Another recommendation is to get pet insurance to make sure that their hearts and thyroids stay in great health. This recommendation comes from a Pomeranian rescue. They must have good reason to make this recommendation since their mission is to rescue Pomeranians.

Grooming for a Pomeranian

Another Pom Rescue writes in this article that their coat needs to be brushed regularly. They have a double coat, and if not brushed regularly, can get matted. Even if your Pomeranian is not fond of being brushed at the beginning, encourage her to love the grooming, and make it a bonding experience for both of you. If grooming is something that you really feel uncomfortable with, you can take your Pom to a professional groomer every 6 weeks or so. The cost varies. You might want to ask other pet owners for recommendations. Not all groomers have the same level of experience. You can read more about Pomeranians here.

This Pomeranian puppy in this video is pure fluff. It’s one of the loveliest sights.

But Poms weren’t always this small. The original Pomeranians weigh 20 to 30 pounds, according to Vetstreet. Today, these “fluffballs” are popular because of their tiny size AND their huge personality.

Aging Backwards workouts with Miranda Esmonde-White

They seem to know that they are the cutest people in the world, and they show it. They might be small, but they are as courageous as any big dog. Even if they enjoy lying on your lap from time to time, they are much too curious to stay there. They want to use their own 4 legs to explore, their world, even if it’s in your living room.

Characteristics of Pomeranians

Because a Pomeranian stays busy indoor, that might take care of his exercise needs. However, you would make him so happy if you take him on a long walk, so he can play with other small dogs and chase after leaves (just the right size for them to chase after.) Pomeranians are quite athletic. They would enjoy dog sports like agility, obedience, tracking, freestyle, and rally.

Pomeranians and grooming

Pomeranians have a double coat. It’s not hard to care for, but you do have to brush it regularly. You’ll be proud to show him off in public. And you are going to attract attention when you have a Pomeranian. He’s glamorous, he’s lively, and he is an extrovert. They are confident, have a take charge attitude, and not afraid of strangers or other animals.

Pomeranians and barking

If you live in an apartment with noise restrictions, you might want to reconsider this breed because Pomeranians do bark. They have a great reputation for being a watch dog. He considers himself as the guardian of his family and home. Start training him early to stop barking when you ask him to. Overall, he is a calm person and is easy to live with. You can read more about the Pomeranians here.

The 8-weeks-old Pomeranian puppies in this video are feeling joyful. But then, what Pomeranians don’t? Listening to the conversation in the background, it sounds like someone is trying to decide on which puppy to take home.

Listen to those busy little feet running around. Even though Poms are small, they have a loud bark, and sometimes they don’t know when to stop. It is a good idea to train them to stop barking on command. Pomeranians are not very dependent, so that makes them excellent pets for dog lovers who are very busy.

How to choose a Pomeranian

Because Pomeranians are small, they can do well with apartment living. However, it’s probably a good idea to not put them in a home with small children because of their small size.

As with choosing other dogs, if possible, it is a good idea to spend time with a puppy before taking them home (more than one visit) to make sure that the personality of the puppy harmonizes well with your family.

Removes urine odor for dogs and cats

Here is some advice from The Pomeranian Information Site on choosing a Pomeranian. To make sure that you are getting a healthy Pomeranian, it is a good idea to buy from a registered Show Pomeranian breeder. The reason is that Show Pomeranian breeders have already done health testing. They will prove their show dogs before they breed, and they spend a great deal of time planning the breeding.

The advice from that site is instead of searching for puppies, search for the breeders who have a high standard of ethics. It is quite possible you’ll have to wait because Pomeranians do not have large litters. This excellent article goes into what to look for when selecting the puppy. You can read the details of that list here. Enjoy watching these little bundles of joy play with their new friends.
