The Boxers in this video have a great sense of humor.  So playful.  They deliberately keeps playing with their people even when they tell them to get down from the bed.  This is a trait of that sense of mischief in the Boxers.  And they believe they are human in some cases.

Vetstreet describes them as silly, sweet, and mischievous.  They clown around with family and friends, as you see in some of the Boxers in this video.  You do need to have a sense of humor with them.  They are playful with children and are patient with them.  They are good watch dogs, but not aggressive, unless the situation calls for it.  They will protect their loved ones with great courage.

What are Boxers like?

This is a fun and really smart dog.  They don’t always take training seriously.  They are so smart that they look for loopholes in the rules to see how far they can get with you.  Just be consistent in your training.  Use treats, praise, whatever he appreciates from you to help mold this playful one.  And start when they are young.  It’s much easier then.

Boxers are athletic.  They need to get that energy out.  Take them for a long one hour walk.  Take them to agility training or some other dog sport.  Their original function is to herd livestock.  So that’s another sport to enroll them.

As far as grooming goes, Boxers are easy care.  Brush his short hair once a week to keep it shiny and healthy.  The brushing also gets out those dead hair that would otherwise end up on your clothes and furniture.  This is not a dog that you need to bathe often.  However, with the gentle dog shampoos available, more frequent baths would not harm their coat.

Keep their nails trimmed every other week or so.  If you can hear those nails clicking on the floor, it’s time for a trim.  You can read more about the Boxers here.  If you enjoy this Boxer video, here’s another one you might like.
