In this video, enjoy interacting with these Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies. Some of them walk right up to the camera and look into the lens with their big eyes. Already we can see some of them has a feisty streak.
Spaniels are a friendly bunch in general, according to Dog Time. They don’t know the word “stranger.” They would like to meet every person on the path, and if you let them sit on your lap or offer them a treat, you’ve got a friend. Like us, some are quiet and some are more rambunctious. They may or may not bark when a stranger comes to the door. So don’t rely on the Spaniels to be your watchdog. Get your own alarm system. 🙂
What are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels like?
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is relatively small and quiet, so he would make a good dog for apartment living, or if you just have a small yard. He is moderately active when he is inside. Once outside, you need either a fenced yard or a leash because he chases after birds and rabbits. He would not look to see if there are any cars on the road. He just dashes after the interesting prey.
Since he has a short nose, he would not do well in heat. So if it is a hot day, walk him early in the morning or in the cooler evening, and do not leave him outside without providing shade or cool water. Cavalier’s get along with children. They would make great lap dogs for the little ones. If there’s a very young child in the family, make sure their playtime is supervised because this is a small dog, a younger child might accidentally injure the Spaniel.
