The Chihuahua puppies in this video are so peaceful. They are just learning to walk on the bed, which can be more of a challenge than on a flat surface. Nevertheless, when they climb and fall over each other, it’s a softer landing. Mom is around to check on the safety of her puppies. And be ready to feed them. What are Chihuahuas like?
Vetstreet shares that Chihuahua got especially popular after the “Yo quiero Taco Bell” ad campaign. And also when famous women carry this tiny dog with a big personality in their purses. Yes, BIG personality in a tiny body. And Chihuahuas do not realize they have a tiny body. They think they are as “big” as a large dog, and would not hesitate to challenge those big dogs. It’s ALL in the attitude. Something for us to learn from! 🙂
Chihuahuas can be as small as 2 pounds. Because of their size, they really aren’t well suited to families with very young children, no matter how gentle the toddlers are in playing with their tiny dog. If a Chihuahua feels threatened, they not only yap, they can nip, even bite. In self-defense, of course. Who wants to be accidentally stepped on or slept on by someone 20 times their weight?
They do make good watch dog because they are quite protective of their family and their territory when it comes to strangers. They are yappers! If yapping gets on your nerve, this is probably not the right breed for you.
However, Chihuahuas are individuals. I know one Chihuahua who is so quiet that to this day, I don’t know what she sounds like. She could be an exception.
