Traits of a Coton de Tulear
There are so many wonderful qualities about the Coton de Tulear. He always looks forward to fun activities. And even though he is an active dog, he doesn’t need strenuous exercise. He would be happy to live in an apartment, as long as you take him for a walk everyday. He is eager to greet you. In fact, a story shared in Lynn’s article says that one woman’s Coton would greet her even when she walks from one level of the house to the next. How is THAT for exuberance?
They play well with older children who respect them. And they are polite with other dogs. In terms of guard dogs, they bark to let you know there are visitors. But that’s pretty much it.
He loves to please you, and is very easy to train. In fact, Coton can excel in sports such as agility, obedience, freestyle, and rally. With a Coton, your life will never be bored. And you’ll have a cuddle buddy when you watch TV or when you are reading.
