In this video, you’ll see Max the Lhasa Apso learning to say “I love you.” Actually, his intonation is pretty good. It sounds to me this is somewhat new for Max. He seems eager to do what’s asked of him. Everytime his mom says, “Max, say I love you”, Max would imitate the essence of the phrase. Sometimes it’s 3 syllables, sometimes he goes the extra mile.
Some dogs are more vocal than others. Many would not even attempt to speak like us. And there are some who makes the efforts either to please us or because they really enjoy going beyond their normal vocal range, and learn a foreign language.
