What are Golden Retrievers like?
Not only are they great family dogs, they are wonderful working dogs too. They can be service dog, they can sniff out drugs, they are therapy dogs, they also help to retrieve for hunters. On top of all these versatile abilities, they are also natural athletes.
According to Dog Time, Golden Retrievers are affectionate with family, very kid friendly, dog friendly, and friendly toward strangers. They are probably not much of a guard dog. They may greet a burglar. 🙂 Golden Retrievers like to be around their human family, so they need to live indoor. However, given that they are a retriever breed, they need some serious physical activities. You can exercise them pretty hard for 40 to 60 minutes a day, providing physical and mental stimulation. Even though they are very good with kids, because of their size, and because they can get boisterous, it can be easy for them to accidentally knock over a little child.
