The Bulldog puppy in this video is chewing on his parent’s finger. I certainly hope his baby teeth are not sharp yet. Ouch! My guess is that the puppy is teething and his parent is helping by giving him something to chew on.
I’ve read that puppies start teething at Week 3. It helps to soothe them to have something to chew on–people, furniture, anything their mouth can reach. Pretty much like human babies do when they start teething. This is normal. A dog also explores the world by how finding out how things feel, by grabbing and touching them. And for a dog, it’s mostly through their mouth.
Enjoy this much too short video on a teething puppy.
